Open Science in Africa

A special issue of Frontiers in Research Metrics and Analysis | Scholarly Communication co-edited by COKI team member Dr. Katie Wilson explores the state of open science, open data and open access across Africa.

Under the guidance of a team of editors from Australia/New Zealand, South Africa and Sudan, the special issue includes original research, review articles and perspectives on developments in open science policies and practices.

Topics include open data policy development in Zimbabwe; big data and the Square Kilometer Array in Africa; open science, open data, and the impact of open access on public health in South Africa; data access and accessibility; perspectives of researchers on open data; institutionalizing open access; and policy making in Africa.
